Goa is India's smallest state in terms of area and the fourth smallest in terms of population. Located on the west coast of India in the area known as the Konkan, it is bordered by the state of Maharashtra to the north and by Karnataka to the east and south, while its western coast is formed by the Arabian Sea.

Panaji (also known as Panjim) is the capital of state. Vasco da Gama is the largest city. The historic city of Margao still shows the influence of Portuguese culture. Goa is visited by hundreds of thousands of international and domestic visitors each year. Goa is well-known for its beautiful beaches, places of worship, world heritage architecture and rich flora and fauna.
Goa has some of the world fame spas of the world, like the Taamra spa in Taj Exotica. The interiors of the spa are done similar to a Kerela temple infusing you with positive vibes. Another recommended spa is the Jiva spa and Taj Aguada. 'Ayurdharma' at the Radisson and the Goa Marriott spa are popular choices.
The Mandovi, the Zuari, the Terekhol, Chapora River and the Sal are Goa's main rivers. The Mormugao harbor on the entrance of the river Zuari is one of the best natural harbors in South Asia.
Tourism is Goa's chief industry: it handles 12% of all foreign visitors’ arrivals in India. Goa has two main traveler seasons: summer and winter. Like the some other parts of India, a market in medical tourism has begun.
